eXp UK has continued to expand its network of self-employed estate agents, with the business reporting that more than 1,000 agents have now joined the platform and further growth planned this year.
The agency launched in the UK in late 2019 with an initial cohort of around 50 agents and has since grown by targeting agents seeking a self-employed model and greater control over their own business operations.
Last year, eXp UK expanded both its agent network and the services available to members. This included the introduction of its “Teams” proposition, designed to allow traditional branch-based agencies to move to a self-employed structure while retaining operational support.
The company has also increased its focus on buyer representation and agent support services as it broadens its operating model.
Having reached 600 agents during 2024 and passed the 800 mark in 2025, the business entered 2026 with around 900 agents operating across its network.
Analysis from TwentyEA estimates that there are currently around 2,000 self-employed estate agents operating across the UK market, meaning eXp UK accounts for around 50% of the nation’s self-employed agency sector.
Adam Day, head of eXp UK and Europe, commented: “When we launched eXp UK in 2019, we knew there was a huge opportunity to modernise the estate agency model and provide agents with something far more aligned to the way they wanted to work and build their businesses.
“To now surpass 1,000 agents exactly one year after becoming the UK’s leading estate agency brand is an incredibly proud moment and one that really highlights the pace at which the business continues to grow given that we now account for 50% market share of self-employed agents within the UK property market.
“What’s particularly exciting is that the rate of growth is accelerating rather than slowing down. That tells you everything you need to know about the appetite for change within the industry and the strength of the model we’ve built.
“Over the last year alone we’ve continued to expand not just in scale, but in the opportunities available to our agents, whether that’s through our brokerage model, commercial division, luxury offering, strategic partnerships or the wider support infrastructure surrounding the platform.
“The industry is evolving quickly and agents increasingly want greater flexibility, better economics and more ownership over their future. That’s exactly what eXp was built to provide and we believe the momentum we’re seeing today is only going to continue building from here.”
