Some members of the Land Registry will go on strike from 27 February to 3 March.

The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) has asked its more than 350 members who work at the Land Registry to take ‘targeted strike action’, which it says is over ‘pay, pensions, redundancy terms and job security’.

The Land Registry says that its core services, ‘with all time-critical services required for property transactions’ will continue as normal. But its customer service teams will be affected, which will likely lead to longer call waiting times and ‘possibly’ reduced call hours.

PCS general secretary Mike Serwotka said: “As long as the government shows no sign of resolving this dispute, we’ll show no signs to stopping strike action.

“Ministers seem able to find money for just about everything other than giving their own employees a decent pay rise. PCS members have had enough of being taken for granted.”

The CSC will operate as normal this week (from Monday 20 February) and due to the strike action, it will now also be operating on Friday 24 February until 5pm. From Monday 6 March the CSC will be operating as normal.
