Tenant due diligence proptech platform completes £1m funding round

Homeppl, the UK-based tenant due diligence and guarantee technology business, has completed a £1m funding round.

The successful funding marks the second round of investment for the fast-growing proptech, which works with a number of major property firms, including Knight Frank, JLL and Douglas & Gordon.

The fast-growing technology business combines anti-fraud technology with Open Banking data and behavioural analysis to protect landlords from tenant fraud, and ensure tenants are not discriminated against and can access the properties they deserve.

In 2021 alone, Homeppl claims to have protected its clients from potential losses of more than £3m.

The funding round has been led by two established global venture capital investors, Hong Kong based VC ParticleX and Venionaire Ventures, on behalf of European Super Angels Club.

Alexander Siedes, CEO and co-founder of Homeppl, said: “This funding provides strong vindication of our proposition and the impact we are having on the market, bringing huge value to tenants, landlords and agents alike.

“The team at Homeppl are acutely aware of the problems renters and landlords face which is why we are determined to change the way things are done for the better. That is exactly what this investment is all about.”

Having a flutter at the bookies more likely.

Tech can only do what it is programmed to do. It won’t be doing anything that letting agents do not already do other than grease the cogs. What it can’t do is replace the ‘person’ which is fundamental at everything due diligence evolves around and a software can never replace or think on its feet (and it needs to in lettings).

I get contacted most weeks, if not days with some IT company telling me they can do better or at least help me. Most are garbage and sole motivation is to make money (expected). …… = investors hoping to cash in and nothing wrong with that but would it pass the Dragons Den test?

Spot on……… we will be time travelling soon. So many loss-making outfits promising to save time. If you add all the time that they say we will save, we will be leaving work for home before we arrive. Imagine running a business for 7 years, never making a dollar but promising to save other businesses lots of time so that they can fire people. The worlds going nuts!
