Estate agents and suppliers join forces to raise money for Ukraine

A group of almost 50 industry figures are embarking on a physical challenge this month to raise money for Ukraine, and are also inviting other suppliers and agents to join them

A year on from raising £16,026 for the mental health charity Mind, the group are now looking to raise money for the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Individuals will choose to carry out one of the following in the month of May and in the process raise money for an incredibly important cause:

Run – 100km

Walk – 150km

Cycle – 250km

Alex Willis, team captain and director at GOTO Group commented: “Just like last year we are looking to use the collective force of 40+ people from our great property community to raise money for an incredibly important cause. Using exercise as the vehicle to fundraise provides vital physical and mental benefits to those involved and the motivation and camaraderie that is generated from the team Whatsapp group keeps everyone pushing for more miles and more money. We are keen to have as many people involved as possible, so if you wish to join the group please contact me on emailalexwillis@gmail.com..”

Spencer Lawrence, lettings director at Paramount, said: “With so much going on in the world, it can be overwhelming to decide which causes to support. What stands out about Miles for Ukraine for me is the community element. There’s a lot of encouragement and motivation between us, and it feels like we’re accomplishing something together. Whatever your ability is – what we’re all doing is equally important. And in the end the money raised goes to help people in a critical situation. I’d highly recommend joining.”

Lucy Noonan, founder at Atomic Consultancy, remarked: ‘’This year once again I’m taking part in the miles for May challenge to raise money for amazing causes. The challenge as a group is tough but so proud and humbled to be come together with so many from the property industry who cheer, motivate each other to succeed. It’s not easy with punctures to contend with, family and work commitments but as a team we are determined to raise as much money this year as possible.’’

Richard Price, managing director at Dezrez, added: ‘’As part of the Miles for Ukraine challenge I am aiming to complete a 115 mile wild triathlon which includes 10 miles of open water swimming, 65 miles off road cycling and 40 miles of running. Alex has assembled a cracking team of colleagues from across the property industry and I’m honoured to be part of it. For me open water swimming is the ultimate freedom and every mile I complete I’m thankful for the freedom that we enjoy every day. I hope that by being part of this challenge we can do something to help those that have had that freedom taken away.’’
