Zoopla has added housebuilder Gleeson to its customer base of developers.
The firm will advertise around 80 new developments a month.
Today’s announcement by Zoopla underlines how keen the portals are to expand their developer listings – although agents trying to establish or expand their own new homes businesses may not share the enthusiasm.
Zoopla has recently added Weston Homes, Duchy Homes and Edonstone Homes, while OnTheMarket has recruited both Barratts and Persimmon Homes.
Alex Rose, director of Zoopla New Homes, said of the latest win: “We invested heavily in our new homes offering last year, developing a specialist new homes proposition to support housebuilders effectively and deliver maximum return on investment. This is now bearing fruit for our clients.
“Gleeson joining us is testament to our team’s in-depth understanding of the new homes sector as well as the benefits we deliver to our housebuilder partners.
“This new relationship also further strengthens our new-build homes footprint across the UK, providing further choice for our house hunters.”
Gleeson, a low-cost housebuilder focused on the north of England, issued a trading update yesterday saying that while the overall result for the first half of its financial year will be “significantly down”, the firm is confident about its full-year results, to June 30.
Gleeson has completed the sale of 811 units during the period, an increase of 17.4% on the previous first half-year’s total of 691 units.
Gleeson is due to deliver its first half year results on February 13.
