Yorkshire agent inspired by local mum to embark on 12.5km charity run across its three branches

A Leeds agent is embarking on a 12.5km run taking in its three branches to raise money for local mum Katie Healy who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Staff from independent agent Hardisty and Co will start from its Otley office on Sunday and run, walk and jog via its Guiseley office to the finish line at its Horsforth branch.

Beccy Cuthbert, negotiator at Hardisty and Co, said: “We’re a small, independent family-run business and Katie’s story has really hit home with us.

“Cancer is happening right now, which is why we’re fundraising for Cancer Research UK.

“Understanding the causes of different cancers and preventing more cases could save many thousands of lives.

“We’re a family here at Hardisty and Co and we want to help wherever we can.

“We would love to have others join us on our quest to run from Otley to Horsforth.

“Run, jog or walk the route, simply donate or join our teams at our Otley, Guiseley or Horsforth branches to cheer us on along the way – we need all the help we can get. We’d love to smash our £1,000 target.”

Agents are also invited to sign up for next year’s Love Mud challenge.

The muddy obstacle race, run by Agents Giving, is returning for a third year and will take place again at the Nuclear Races venue in Essex on May 17.

This year’s winners Eurolink exceeded their own expectations around the course with a winning time of two hours 15 minutes closely followed by Thomas Morris Estate Agents and Drivers & Norris.

Michael Stoop, chairman of Agents Giving, said: “This highly competitive muddy challenge is set to return next year to test the industry once more.

“This year the teams from the property world went head to head tackling the challenging obstacles and triumphed.

“We look forward with excitement to May 2020. So sign up your team now and let’s get this challenge started.”
