Yopa launches self-employed agent platform

Yopa has today announced the launch of a new associate ‘broker’ model, offering self-employed agents access to their platform and company support.

The Yopa Associate Model is aimed at existing self-employed estate agents or those considering self-employment in the future.

Yopa, which recently filed accounts at Companies House showing a loss of £3.7m (see below), says the offering has been designed to ensure its financial packages are among some of the most competitive and transparent in the industry.

The company insists that ‘flexibility’ is also at the heart of the new model offering, with associates offered the opportunity to set their own fees, all within a no sale, no fee offering for customers.

The Yopa associate model will also have the full backing of the Yopa team, providing guidance, resources, and support to help them succeed on their self-employed journey.

Meanwhile, whereas the existing  Yopa model postcode allocation is defined by franchise level, associates will have the flexibility to operate in any postcode across the UK. This will provide opportunities for cross-country referrals for associates also potentially benefitting Yopa’s’ existing franchise owners in revenue share.

The Yopa Associate Model can be sponsored by existing Yopa franchise owners, who will mentor and support associates as they build up their business.

The CEO of Yopa, Verona Frankish, commented: “Yopa has become a trusted and well-known brand in the fixed-fee, hybrid estate agency space since 2016 and the business has been on an incredibly focused journey of growth, in recent years.

“As a result, our path to sustained profitability is on track having made profit across several months in 2024, for the first time in Yopa’s history, with a run rate of annual profitability in FY 24/25.

“Therefore, we felt that now was the right time to take the next step in the company’s evolution with the launch of our Associate Model, as we look to capitalise on a market segment that has been growing at pace in recent years.

“In doing so, we become the first company within the UK property market to offer our agents the widest range of career options and opportunities to suit their individual needs.

“The Yopa Associate Model will enable agents to benefit from the strength, depth and support of the existing Yopa business, but at a pace to suit their own individual growth ambitions.

“If you’re curious about self-employment and want to learn more about our proposition, we’d love to talk, find out more about your goals and how we can help you realise them.”

The sooner these eternally loss making companies all die the better. They suck money out of proper businesses that can’t afford to just sustain a loss on an ongoing basis!
