Yomdel founder Andy Soloman announces retirement

Andy Soloman, the founder of 24/7 managed live chat provider is standing down from his role to retire from the business, but he will remain involved as a brand ambassador.

Andy Soloman

Soloman established Yomdel, the UK’s first provider of 24/7 fully managed live chat services for small- and medium-sized enterprises, in 2012. Two years later it focussed in on the residential property sector to offer estate agents the opportunity to be open online around the clock.

The results were impressive and the company swift grew to the point where it now serves around 3,800 estate agent offices in the UK, as well as multiple other sectors, and handles more than a two million live chats per year.

Soloman said: “Yomdel is tattooed in my DNA. It’s been a roller coaster of a journey from the beginning when I launched Yomdel with just me and three live chat operators, to the slick, technologically advanced business that Yomdel is today. But with Brief Your Market acquiring the us in March, loads of investment in innovation and development together with an amazing team, the time is right for me to hand over the reins.

“I have loved every minute – even when sometimes there were tears before bedtime – and even now I am not completely disappearing. I will remain as an active Yomdel ambassador and advisor to the business and our clients, I want to be able to help whenever I can.”

“It is the people that have made Yomdel so special to me, whether it is my long suffering and brilliant business partner Tim Breden, the amazing Yomdel and Brief Your Market staff or our incredible clients and partners. And to you all I say thank you,” he added.

Under Soloman’s guidance, Yomdel has grown significantly over the years with a number of national and local estate agency brands relying on its service to represent them online to drive new business lead generation and provide professional customer service.

In retirement, aside from continuing to support Yomdel, Soloman plans on following his other passions of travel, photography and writing.

“Whilst it’s going to be strange not having Andy around day-to-day we’re pleased he’s still connected to the business in his ambassadorial role” said Tim Breden, who is remaining in the business to lead the next phase of innovation together with Brief Your Market to help supercharge client businesses.

He added: “Yomdel is Andy’s brainchild and he’s been with the business every step of the way and central to its success. Like us, Andy is rightly proud of what we’ve achieved. The challenge for us now is to take the business forward, to innovate, consistently improve and exceed our clients expectations. Our primary focus will be product development, using technological advancements and data to help our clients accelerate growth.”

I have know Andy ( and his fantastic team ) since they started and I can honestly say that they have been a truly outstanding partner to us – offering what originally was a very innovative service. Now I can’t imagine operating without them! I’m sure we’ll still see Andy around in his ” Ambassador  ” role. Good luck in the future and thanks for all your work and support for our industry – in more ways than one.

I got into an almighty row with Smile Please over Yomdel  but Andy Solomon came through and proved my gut feel about him and the just press released Yomdel was spot on.  (Ros deleted a very robust debate)

When I read about what Andy was attempting I knew he was 99% on the right lines ( he never did get the 1% sorted); responding to people engaging with an agent’s web site was an no-brainer to me.
Andy Solomon has gone on to be a trusted, well liked industry supplier, a friend to many who has achieved everything he set out to achieve with good grace, dignity, integrity and respect. I wish him all the best for a great retirement and thank him for allowing me to go Yah, boo sucks to those who  joined the pile one in 2014
    Well done mister, enjoy.

Oh no Robert, no-one ever wants to be 100% on the right lines, otherwise where is there to go? I’m not disappearing and look forward to helping and supporting the industry where I can. Thank you for your kind words.
