Good news, chaps and chapesses.
One in five home owners is planning to move home almost straight away.
Indeed, that is a finding from a survey commissioned by the Nottingham Building Society in April. As we know, if it’s a survey it must be true.
This one found that 20% of a sample of 1,115 adults were planning to move in the next six months – which takes us up to October.
Just think! That equates to millions of lovely new instructions and more new applicants than you could shake a stick at.
Any minute now, we’ll get more of those ‘busiest-ever days’ on Rightmove and Zoopla stories, and Spicerhaart announcing that it is going to take its top-performers on a Christmas world cruise by way of a thank you.
So, stand back and cancel all holidays – especially agents in the east of England where 27% of people are considering moving by October, followed by 26% of people in the south-west and Wales, 24% in Yorkshire and Humberside, and 23% in London and the south-east.
On the other hand … pull the other one.
