Why do estate agents think they can go self-employed and be a success?

This week’s Agents MVMT podcast ‘Pass the Syrup’, presented by Ben Madden, features Toby Martin of Reside Bath, Angi Cooney of C-Residential and Chris Buckler of The Estate Agency

The guests give their views on the ‘new’ model of estate agency that has got the industry buzzing, and whether just about anyone can ‘go’ self-employed.

Is it right for everyone, should recruiters be doing more to explain the risks to those they are recruiting, and what is needed to actually be a success as a stand-alone agent, in one of the most competitive industries you can work?

In this week’s social hand grenade, the guests review a particular post that divides the group, which seeks to simplify the value proposition – but does it?

The you can’t make it up segment provides more of the off-piste antics agents face week in week out.

Waffle of the week lands on HS2 and potential impact of the project being shelved, and as always, Sam Offley of Agents Together, and Chirs Watkins make an appearance.

People think they are the reason for success.
They forget they used 100 year companies with letting dept’s to subsidise them in the tough times.
+ the market wants to see blood . I.e. an office .

I dont think buyers or sellers need an office
I know of 3 successful agents who have office space in industrial estates or serviced offices
