What impact will a Labour government have on housing?

The UK’s political landscape has no doubt changed following Labour’s landslide victory on 4 July, and Propertymark’s policy team has organised a webinar for lunch time today, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, to discuss how it will impact the housing sector.

Timothy Douglas, head of policy and Campaigns at Propertymark, alongside policy and campaigns officers, Tim Thomas and Henry Griffith, will reflect on the manifesto commitments, as well as recent speeches and announcements of the new UK Government, and break down how and what this may mean for agents moving forward.

Propertymark’s webinars are available to the whole industry and provide excellent opportunities for those who work in the housing sector to receive updates and information on a range of topics.

As part of its webinar package available, a monthly update from the Policy Team is available which provides insights into the political landscape across all devolved nations, the work the team are doing to engage with politicians on key issues within the sector and how any existing or future changes may impact the day-to-day job of an agent.

Nathan Emerson, CEO at Propertymark, said: “With a new government in power, any manifesto commitments they have made will no doubt impact the housing sector. This webinar represents a great opportunity for anyone, regardless of whether they are Propertymark members or not, to learn about the new UK government’s priorities when it comes to housing, and we would urge members to attend to help them make sense of the new political landscape. This is also a chance to see if the new UK government’s housing policies are achievable too.”
