Well-known franchisee completes major independent agency acquisition

Martin & Co’s Huddersfield branch has completed the acquisition of a major independent letting agency.

Martin & Co Huddersfield owner Will Taylor completed a deal for the letting business of long-standing Huddersfield agent Boultons – increasing his managed portfolio by more than 60%.

Alongside their managed portfolio, Boultons operations manager. Lisa Hollings, along with property manager, Leah Hollings, and letting coordinator, Jane Blackmore, have also joined Martin & Co Huddersfield.

Taylor, who has owned Martin & Co Huddersfield for 14 years, completed his first acquisition a year ago when he purchased Milltown Lettings’ portfolio.

Taylor said: “I’ve been in various talks over recent years with Boultons and am thrilled that we were able to work out a deal that allowed everyone involved to benefit.

“Completing our second acquisition within 12 months only goes to show the drive that both I and the rest of the team have to grow Martin & Co Huddersfield.

“I couldn’t be happier with the team that have joined from Boultons and am excited for our future together.”

Martin & Co MD, Ellie Hall, added: “Will’s hard work and dedication has seen him and the team in Huddersfield enjoy amazing success over the past 14 years.

“Their reputation in Huddersfield is second to none and I’m delighted to see Will complete this latest acquisition.

“His deal is the latest in a long line of acquisitions for Martin & Co franchisees and I’d urge any independents thinking of selling to contact us.

A small number of Boultons properties outside of Martin & Co Huddersfield’s territory also transferred to Martin & Co Pontefract, owned by Michelle Stoppard.

She said: “I’m delighted to have been involved with the acquisition and look forward to welcoming our new customers to Martin and Co.”
