McCartan Lettings & Property Management, a well-established agency in Swansea, has been sold to Newport-based Number One Property Management for a reported six-figure sum.
The sale of the agency, set up by Hannah McCartan in 2006, secures the future of the business.
“After 18 years, I felt it was the right time to sell,” said Hannah. “I’m delighted to pass the baton on to the new owners, Newport-based Number One Property Management, who are the ideal team to drive the next stage of McCartan Lettings’ growth.”
With Number One Property’s head of lettings Emma Darlow taking control of the Swansea office, a smooth transition between McCarten and the new team was crucial, as she explained: “As with any business sale, we wanted to ensure a level of continuity that prevented any issues with the day-to-day operation, so with branch manager James White remaining in post to assist Emma and the new team, I knew the transition was in safe hands.”
“Looking back to 2006 when I was writing the first business plan for McCartan Lettings, I’m super proud of what we’ve achieved,” she added. “I set out to change the perception of what a letting agent could be, and I truly believe I’ve done that with the reputation and brand McCartan Lettings has become.”
With the sale successfully concluded, McCartan has already started her next business journey by founding The Landlord Community.
