We all know local schools where agents’ boards sponsoring the annual fete sprout in the playgrounds.
However, this seems like a clever new twist on the idea – with the agents’ boards going up in dozens of properties in the same village
None of the boards say For Sale, Sold, or Available, but they do promote next weekend’s fete – and the agent’s own name, Dawsons.
Has it offended anyone? Absolutely not.
The 50 or so home owners, with children at the school, are only too pleased to promote the summer fair. The agent itself, Dawsons, has donated £5 per sign. And the parent/teacher association is thrilled.
The only confusion appears to be about the only property that actually is for sale .
“This idea has been a huge success for the school,” said Chris Hope, one of the partners at Dawsons Estate Agents, in Newton, south Wales.
“I live in the village and I have had people coming up to me and saying what a great idea it is.”
Zoe Antrobus, who has children at the school and has participated in the scheme, said: “In all seriousness it is brilliant and it actually looks as if the whole of Newton is for sale.
“I think it is quite funny but it’s for a good cause and Dawsons have been brilliant.”
