Trial of estate agent charged with murdering wife due to continue

The trial of an estate agent charged with murdering his wife is due to continue this week.

David Clark, 49, of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, is accused of killing his wife Melanie in the early hours of New Year’s Day. He has pleaded not guilty.

Worcestershire Crown Court has so far heard evidence of the couple’s volatile relationship, and how Clark apparently dialled 999 after stabbing her.

After calling police, jurors heard that Clark tried to kill himself and begged police officers to shoot him when they arrived.

Birmingham Crown Court also heard that Melanie Clark had taunted her husband over his manhood, and had had a lesbian affair.
