There were 114,780 residential property transactions in the UK last month, HMRC has reported.
The figure differs from the ‘seasonally adjusted’ figure of 104,590 which is often quoted by the media.
However, EYE prefers to quote HMRC’S non-seasonally adjusted figures.
In real terms, therefore, the June figure is well ahead of May’s 99,190 and beats the last high, in August last year, of 114,720.
It is also the first time this year that monthly figures have been above the 100,000 level for home sales.
In 2014, there were just over 1.2m transactions, according to HMRC.
