New portal auto-responder caters to buyers’ need for instant gratification

A tool that enables agents to send an instant response to portal enquiries at any time of day or night has launched.

Proptech firm OneDome says that its auto-responder product OneLead will catch email enquiries from portals and provide immediate replies.

Although one or two other similar products exist, customers generally have to fill out forms before the estate agent makes a follow-up call or email to set up the booking.

OneLead’s response will include a button that drives prospective buyers to the relevant listing on the agent’s website.

Agents can take OneLead as an individual product but can also use it as part of a package in conjunction with its booking tool OneBook. This enables customers to go ahead and book a viewing directly into the agent’s calendar 24/7 and not have to wait until agent gets back to them during working hours. Both products are available as part of OneDome’s basic package.

The system will also help identify if the customer is a vendor by inviting them to book a valuation with the same agent.

It costs £1.50 per property to use OneLead, capped at £99 per month as part of OneDome’s basic package, which includes OneBook.

OneDome pointed to a 2016 Rightmove report which claimed that 65% of consumers carry out research on portals outside of working hours.

Babek Ismayil, founder and CEO of OneDome, said: “Consumer expectations are greater than ever and they expect instant gratification. When sending an enquiry form from a portal, buyers often get a slow response or no reply at all because agents find that many of the enquiries they get from portals are low quality, or worse, spam. This discourages agents from responding and unfortunately, this means that high quality enquiries are missed.

“OneLead will resolve this issue by providing customers with the instant response they expect and the instant gratification of being able to line up that viewing or valuation.

“The benefit to the agent will be catching those quality leads and not wasting time separating the wheat from the chaff they would’ve got straight from the portal.”

Am I missing something here? Why on earth would any self-respecting agent want anonymous persons to be able to book viewings without proper qualification? If people are after “instant gratification” I beleive there are other areas of the web that cater for that!

We believe that a prospective buyer is more likely to be a quality lead if they take the step to click through to the agent’s site and book the appointment once there. Furthermore, OneDome offers a social verifier tool to further vet the lead. Compared to a cold lead from a portal, the agent is better informed to qualify the customer, whether they decide to call them for more information or not. Another ‘game changer’. PMSL!! Can’t see much of a take up on this, diary management is a bit more complex than just slinging viewings in, especially where a vendor/landlords/tenants approval is needed before accessing. Personally I’ve never had a single person who’s sent an enquiry in outside office hours complain that we didn’t get back to them until the following morning. Just another scheme to try and prise agents hard earned from them on a monthly basis.

OneDome functionality allows you to factor in the availability of the vendor, landlord and/or tenants. Research from Rightmove and EA Masters finds that 40% of email enquiries from portals are ignored, while those leads that do get a response have to wait an average of over 48 hours. We believe making it easier for estate agents to respond to enquiries and providing those leads a better customer experience will make both parties lives easier. Easymatch has been doing this already for 5 years! Our client Logic Estates won Rightmove’s nationwide mystery shopping contest for highest and fastest response rates to Rightmove enquiries in 2016 as a direct result of the tech we built back in 2012. 100% of all enquiries from Rightmove to Easymatch users are immediately acknowledged and the applicant’s or vendor’s details automatically logged into their CRM within 1-2 minutes of being sent.

And to the naysayers that say applicants don’t like or want an instant response, there is ample evidence from all consumer industries that they do in fact value and appreciate an immediate acknowledgment of their enquiry, even if it is to say that someone will be in touch shortly to discuss their requirements. It’s your outdated views which are part of the reason our industry is considered so out of touch with technology.

OneDome boys are great though, I’ve met them, they’re impressive and I wish them all the best.
