A service offering high street agents a way to compete with onliners claims to have signed up 16 traditional firms in its first year of operation.
Love2move gives agents an online alternative by providing a fixed price £895 offering alongside their existing proposition.
The package is aimed at millennials and the more mobile-savvy, using technology similar to dating website Tinder that lets buyers of swipe and select potential properties on an agent’s books.
The idea is that by using Love2move over online agents, sellers have the additional comfort of their property value being verified by an experienced local agent who will advise on the price that will generate maximum return and a speedy sale, with access to further support, if required, as their sale progresses.
Agents with Love2move are able to generate addition income by tailoring their service and offering paid-for extras such as additional viewings.
It was launched by Mark Worrall and Georgina Cox, who also run high street agency Moving Works.
They said their listings have achieved 98.6% of asking price since using Love2move, which Cox said proves the benefit to online vendors of having a realistic valuation from a high street agent with local knowledge.
She said: “Its success has been greater than we had dared hope.
“We set ourselves a target of 12 agents signing up to Love2move and finished the year with 16, and also with proof that the concept really can add value to a traditional agent’s business.”
Partner agent David Leake of Housesetc, which has offices in Goole, Yorkshire, said he had seen a boom in instructions by using the service.
He said: “We’ve found that Love2move gives us an important point of difference from the local competition, which has certainly encouraged signings to our traditional offering.
“The fixed online fee of £895 attracts a particular sector of the market which absolutely does not compete with those wanting the full support of a high street agent, but instead gives us an additional income stream.”
