You may be enjoying England’s success in the World Cup, but spare a thought for this Fine & Country agent and a colleague from parent company GPEA who are just a third of the way through a 12 marathon charity challenge.
Clint Nykamp, an agent for Fine & Country West Midlands and Emma Preston, regional manager for GPEA, have embarked on a 12 marathon challenge to raise money and awareness to tackle homelessness.
They completed the third race at a naval base in Yeovil earlier this month, having already covered Brighton and Exeter.
The pair, who are doing one marathon each month until March 2019 to raise money for homelessness causes supported by the Fine & Country Foundation, will be in Stoke-on-Trent in July followed by Milton Keynes in August.
Preston said: “This was the most difficult race so far. It was a triple threat – hot, humid and hilly. There were fewer participants than our previous races so I spent a lot of the race running alone. I am so grateful to the marshals for cheering me on so my mental strength didn’t waver.
“One of the marshals ran the final mile with me, which made my day because I hadn’t seen another runner in miles.”
Nykamp added: “The atmosphere was brilliant at the naval base with lots of support from military medical team. One of my favourite moments of the race was seeing a man attempt the world record for dribbling a hockey ball through a marathon in under four hours.
“I really enjoyed the day, and hope that the next race won’t be quite as humid. We would love to see more supporters with us in Stoke-on-Trent next month.”
