During lockdown many agents asked outgoing tenants to send in a video of their home that could be used as a virtual viewing for prospective tenants.
This one appeared on Twitter and is possibly not quite what the agent had in mind.
So far it has had 4.8 million views, 264,500 likes, and 61,500 retweets.
It features ants, condensation, wonky shelves, extractor fans too noisy or not working, rats that would not die even if fed plutonium, and a garden that will end up looking like the Somme after the tenants remove their plants.
In the words of the Scottish tenant it’s all a bit ‘pish’ and we’d be very surprised if the place re-let on the strength of this less-than-glowing endorsement.
Have a look for yourself (the video will not play in Firefox so use this link instead)
Our letting agent asked us to make a video of the flat we are basically being forced out of. I wish them the very best of luck. pic.twitter.com/h3fcOw657w

And yet the tenant really wants to stay in this awful house. Why?

Surely you would never ask an unhappy, out-going tenant to film a video to promote a property? I bet the landlord is absolutely delighted with the agent’s ideas on marketing!

What can I say?
Serves the Agent & Landlord right for asking the Tenant to do a Video……

…….I’m bit concerned at his choice of “PPE” though ……perhaps from the “Men in Black” Collection?
Gawn Yirsel ….as we cheerily say in Scotland, when offering a vocal sign of “Approval”.
Made me laugh …..heartily.

I’m still laughing tho’
…..amidst the tears of “can we get back to work in Scotland too”.
Reminds me of Prestwick Airport having “Pure Deid Brilliant” signage emblazoned at the Airport in 20ft high lettering – a Scottish Comedic Phrase ….. just NOT the word “Deid” (slang for DEAD!) …..as you walk into the Airport intending to Fly?!!
I met in a business setting with the former Airport CEO and we “chatted?” about that “Slogan” which was there when he arrived….. we both howled with laughter re how that slogan was ever approved? ……just like an Agent asking a disgruntled (maybe fairly) Tenant to do a “Promo Video”
Bonkers!
