As business leaders, we must focus on identifying and nurturing potential within our ranks. This means investing in training programmes, mentoring, and creating clear pathways for career advancement. Developing future leaders requires a proactive approach, ensuring that talented individuals have the support and opportunities they need to grow and excel. Are we, as businesses, doing enough to cultivate this next generation? If not, we risk falling behind.

    Thanks for this Josh. At least you have the balls to tell it like it is
    Salaries are stuck in the 1980s in Estate Agency and whilst some reputable companies are uplifting in the management level roles but there are many companies wanting negs in 8.30 – 6.30 6 days a week on 18K where they need their own car in London, and it just attracts the wrong people which in turn increases churn and lowers the credibility of a brilliant profession.
    I know its a vicious circle. But something has to change.
    The cynics can say that as recruiters of course we want to push up basic salaries as we get paid on that – but the reality is salaries are overall too low…..
    But also the time it takes some companies to recruit is a ****** joke.
    One corporate I know takes circa 2 months and 4 interviews, a video, a f2f, a second and then often another in the branch – and its frustrating and good candidates just leave the process.

    There is an industry (Bless You) but there is also struggles within the industry. Yes there is career progression, but not in every company – but thats where having a good recruiter can really help you. You may need to change companies to further your career – but then maybe not.
