The difference a day makes: How just one day this year brought agent 80% of total 2017 revenue

A husband-and-wife estate agency has reported making more money in the first quarter of this year than in the whole of last year.

Birchover Sales and Lettings, run by Carl and Lisa Bridge, were the only agents in Nottingham appointed to sell student apartments at the city’s Laceworks.

Carl Bridge said: “All 222 apartments at The Laceworks sold within ten weeks, and on one January day alone, we achieved revenues equivalent to 80% of our 2017 total revenues.

“This has made other developers sit up and notice.

“We are in advanced talks with developers in Derby, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester and East Anglia to represent them on similar deals.

“Our purchasers for The Laceworks were from as far away as Singapore and Brazil, so we now have an active bank of investors looking for similar deals, and this appeals to the new developers we are in discussions with.”

Bridge said that his firm is now actively looking to acquire other businesses.

He said: “We have been in serious negotiations with three separate lettings agencies in the east midlands, but not quite managed to agree a deal yet.

“We have the funds, infrastructure and team ready and able to integrate another business into our own and have made significant upgrades to our software in readiness for the rapid expansion.”

Nice to see local developers giving business to local companies rather then doing it diy on rightmove or giving it to a corporate.

Sometimes I think trump has got it right on trade.

Just a big scale Buy local ethos.

P.s. unless you plan to sell out your agency after a few years. don’t expand.. go on holiday.. not worth the stress or tax.
