Tenants’ arrears climb as rents peak at record highs

Tenant arrears have risen in Scotland, to stand at 9.6% of rent due.

Reporting this morning on July, Your Move said that rent arrears in Scotland have been rising – up from 6.2% a year ago.

Scottish tenants are also more significantly in arrears than their English and Welsh counterparts, who were 8.4% in arrears by the end of July.

Your Move also reports that rents across Scotland have peaked at record levels – averaging £549 per month.

Scottish rents are now 2.8% more than a year ago.
