Student lettings agency loc8me has expanded into York, adding the city to its growing network in the North of England.
York becomes the company’s seventh northern location, alongside Newcastle, Durham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Hull, as it continues to target university markets across the region.
The Loughborough-based firm now operates in 19 university cities nationwide, managing more than 3,500 properties and around 8,000 student bedrooms.
Properties in York will be managed from loc8me’s Leeds office, where the company will provide its standard lettings and management services to a market of more than 22,000 students.
Raffaele Russo, founder of loc8me, said: “Students in York have very clear expectations about where and how they want to live.
“It is a city that values quality, consistency and trust, and that aligns closely with how we’re looking to support those students.”
All York-managed properties will operate under Loc8me’s Seal of Approval framework, which sets standards for safety, presentation and quality across the company’s national portfolio.
The York expansion follows a strong year for loc8me, which earlier in 2026 facilitated more than 7,500 student moves across its UK portfolio while working with over 500 landlords.
Russo added: “York strengthens our northern presence in a meaningful way and is such an important city in the region’s student market.
“Northern university cities deserve the same consistency and professionalism that students expect anywhere else in the country.
“Every new city gives us that opportunity to raise standards by improving the overall experience students have while they are here.”
