Start-up firm Movem, which aims to produce tenants’ passports, has been shortlisted in the Spectator’s new ‘Economic Disrupter of the Year’ awards.
It is the only proptech company to make the finals.
Movem analyses tenants’ bank transactions to detect income and rental payments, and to offer letting agents a “revolution” in referencing.
Peter Ramsey, who founded the business as a university student, said: “It’s obviously a bit crazy that we’re finalists alongside such amazing companies like Revolut and Carwow. I’m not entirely sure how that happened.
“Still, the team fully deserve this, as we’ve all been working so hard for a long time to bring a product to proptech that actually is disruptive. We’re not going to win, but we’re still very pleased!”
