Estate agency director dies four months after his wife lost battle with cancer

An estate agency director has died less than four months since his wife lost her battle with cancer.

Lucy Thompson was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2018 and died on June 19, aged 44.

Reality Estate Agent, in Norwich city centre, has announced that Adam Thompson, co-director of the firm, had also died.

A spokesman for the estate agents said: “It is with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of my fellow director Adam, who tragically lost his battle with life, while grieving the recent death of his wife Lucy.

“My sincere condolences are with his family and children at this time.”

Adam joined Reality Estate Agent in 2016 as a director after Lucy founded the company in 2009.

The pair got married at Norwich Cathedral on 13 July 2019, after Lucy had been given the all-clear by doctors.

But she was told by doctors in June 2020 that she had multiple tumours on her liver as a result of secondary breast cancer.

Lucy and Adam, with friends, raised almost £14,000 for the Big C charity through a series of fund-raising events, including the couple skydiving at Ellough helicopter base near Beccles in May 2021.

A 400-mile cycle ride and 25km walk were also part of those efforts and Lucy’s sisters Sandy and Hayley were part of a team which took part in a firewall for the Big C at Castle Gardens in Norwich in August.

Sharing the news on Facebook, the tribute said that Adam had been born in 1983, with a post saying: “No words can explain how we are feeling.”

The statement added that “details of funeral arrangement will follow in due course”.

Your response is in extremely bad taste. Shocking lack of respect.

RIP Together would have done just fine.
