Shhh! Don’t mention the election

It isn’t very often that an estate agent makes the hallowed pages of Private Eye.

And when they do, it’s a given that Ian Hislop and his team aren’t going to be particularly admiring.

So, south London agent Jacksons found themselves top of the “desperate marketing” section after saying that they’d been bringing buyers and sellers together since the days of John Major, and asking landlords and sellers to “vote for us”.

In five years’ time, it might just be worth remembering that if you mention the general election in your advertising, you’re liable to end up in Private Eye.
