Savills launches debut television adverts

Savills launched its debut TV advertising campaign last night in an ad break on the ITV hit drama Victoria.

If you missed it (Poldark anyone?) it’s above.

It is one of two TV adverts, House Unfaithful and Mancave, which will run for eight weeks. The ads are part of a larger marketing campaign.

Alison Dean, head of consumer marketing at Savills, said:  “At Savills we are incredibly ambitious for the business and recognise the need to be nimble in a changing market.

“Our new campaign is a key part of driving future success, using an approach that is tried and tested in other retail and service sectors.

“We are out to challenge both the status quo in the market and preconceived ideas of who and what Savills is. The TV commercials are just the beginning.”

We’d be interested in your thoughts.

I saw this ad during Victoria last night and I’m not sure if it’s right for the Savills market?  It seems to me to appeal more to the mid / lower end – is this the way Savills are moving?

You’ve YOPA be joking. Or maybe not 🙂

Everyone’s entitled to join in the race to the bottom. Did the same Zoopla marketing team put the ad together. Voices in houses.

Maybe agency today is simply about copying everyone else and not being original.

I hear there could be a new agency offering to sell your home for a £tenner called YAPA. Lot of talk of being cheaper, but a lot of YAPPING rubbish.

Lets see some original ideas on getting fees back up. How about better service levels than just sticking a home on portals.

      Interesting conundrum for Savills.

Difficult to move into the middle/lower market without diluting their prestige brand or fees.

An On line only brand as an ‘investment’ appears to be unsustainable now PB have shown they shall need to charge MORE UPFRONT than many small, independent, branch based agents charge (North of Watford Gap) …for a full ‘no sale. no charge service!

For those, like me, inside this average market, a fee of  £2,700 would be highly contended!

Surely the wise ‘investment’ would be for someone to devise some new ideas that many professional, full service estate agents would wish to support as they shall provide some real and tangible benefits?  It wouldn’t cost much.  After all, these agents shall be around a lot longer than those on line only cash cows?

Some horrible mistakes appear to have been made over the past 12 months, gifting the main two portals even more control.

A change in strategy is now required.

How about something refreshing and new?
