Savills clarifies auction guide prices after complaint to advertising watchdog

A complaint about Savills has been informally resolved by the Advertising Standards Authority.

An ASA spokesperson said: “A website for Savills, a property auction house, promoted properties to be sold at an auction in London. A complainant challenged whether the listed guide prices were misleading.

“We contacted the advertiser with these concerns. It made changes to the ad which we considered made the reserve and guide prices clearer.

“By making the amends it helped ensure that the relationship between guide and reserve prices was clear as stipulated in CAP guidance.”
