Bidders for Chestertons will be putting in their offers this week.

It is thought that a price tag of around £50m is being sought by owners Mercantile Group.

Bidders are thought to include private equity firms as well as commercial property businesses wanting to expand into residential, and rival estate agents.

Any deal is likely to be concluded by the end of this year.

Eye will be interested to see if the new owners keep the rather curious new logo.
