A Rightmove survey to agents is asking them which portals they use and what they think of Rightmove and its competitors, OnTheMarket and Zoopla.
For example, it asks about current usage and portals used in the past, plus portals that agents would consider using.
It also asks a series of other questions such as whether each of the three portals provides data that helps agents get instructions, and has a pricing structure that is clear and easy to understand.
Curiously, it asks you to pick a character to answer your questions.
The 12 images show both genders and a range of apparent ethnicity.
We asked Rightmove about the survey and the psychology behind using the avatars.
A spokesperson told us: “The aim of this survey from a third party is to help us review our products and services with our agents, to constantly improve what we offer.
“The way the survey is designed uses a different research method than the usual 1-10 point scale.
“The aim of the visual avatars (the characters you choose) is to allow people to help better express how they feel when they are asked the questions.
“It doesn’t make any difference which avatar they use.”
I’m not sure whether this is inventive or trivial, but the results will no doubt be controversy-free…

What a ridiculous, infantile piece of nonsense.
