Rightmove to change its logo, agents are told

Rightmove is changing its logo – although not its search for happiness.

The current logo will still be used by both Rightmove and member agents until December 13.

In a note to members, Rightmove says that its current logo has “served us well and this new version still uses the house and arrow – an icon familiar to house hunters everywhere and one that has been associated with Rightmove since we launched in 2000.

“This latest version looks great on any device and we hope you’ll agree it is cleaner and bolder.”

A spokesperson for Rightmove said: “We’re letting agents know well in advance to give them time to update any materials that are going to be used after December 13,  so we don’t want them to use it until then.”

It is, we reckon, the fifth logo to be used by Rightmove, but is a radical departure from the previous and current use of blues and greens. More information is at http://hub.rightmove.co.uk/brand-guidelines/

What do I think? I think it looks like a  folded paper aeroplane.

A number of us have said it looks very similar to AirBnB logo!

I am also perplexed because the guidelines of “correct usage” of the Rightmove name, clearly ask for it to begin with a capital “R” but factually their new (undoubtedly several tens of thousands) marketing makeover clearing drops the upper case R in favour of lower case throughout. Anyone else note the same?

It’s a rip off of the ZPG logo! Even the colour isn’t a million miles away.

    Very, very cynical from Rightmove

It’s a bit bland and unimaginative….It could’ve been so much more!
