Rightmove starts launch of Intel tool

Rightmove has begun the launch of its new market insight tool.

Some 1,200 estate agency branches around the country have just started using a pre-release version of the new RightmoveIntel – due to be available to all Rightmove members by the end of the year as part of their standard membership.

The tool, which is powered by a new, faster database, includes a new market share report that delivers insight on an agents’ market share of instructions, available stock and agreed sales in their local patch.

The report is updated daily, following consultation with agents to find out what would make it most useful to them, and it contains data for the previous 14 months so that members can track their annual performance.

RightmoveIntel is the second part of the Rightmoveplus upgrade, the first of which – RightmoveAdmin – completed its roll-out to all members last month.

Product manager Ian Chapman said: “Creating a tool that is quick and easy for our thousands of members to use was no small task.

“But after over 6,000 man-hours and meetings with more than 75 agents we have created a first-rate tool that we hope will help give our members the insight they need to have a competitive edge in their local area.

“The various meetings we had with our members helped us to understand exactly what they wanted from this tool and shape it accordingly, and there will be additional features added as we move towards the end of the year and into 2015.

“Rather than switch it on for everyone at the same time, we always trial new products first so that we can gather feedback before rolling it out fully.

“We have chosen 1,200 agents to take part in the first phase, but if there are any other Rightmove members that would like to help test-drive it we’d be more than happy to set them up with a log-in as well.”

Any Rightmove member who would like to try out RightmoveIntel can email: rmintel@rightmove.co.uk

Whilst I remain a member of WM I can comment on their WM Admin update which is muddled, a backward step, poorly designed…. need I go on, other than to say one wonders who they consulted with? Estate Agents?….. really?….. from this Planet?

And forgive me but why do I need WM providing Performance Management Tools?…… provide me with enhanced visual presentation for my properties! What would be OUTSTANDINGLY useful is detailed analysis of those enquiring about properties/viewings etc however we know that is too tough a nut to crack and we do it…. what you provide is the much easier self analysis of the data that is easiest to collate and effectively plays one member off another, you choose to back those that support you most…. and as long as that is made clear by you then we know where we stand. Try injecting some real time & effort into categorising the quality of the leads you supply……2000 hits on a property?…. uhuh?…. of which 115 have sold and need to move, 200 are currently on the market for sale etc…. yip! …. that's real world useful info!…. but its too hard and not profitable for you to provide that info! Let's just stick to more Performance Management Tools, they're easy to do and make it look as if you are doing something! Doh! And yes I know we have the wee tick alongside house to sell when there is an email enquiry etc however where is the real detail?

I assume this is similar to Vizzihomes which was purchased by Zoopla and then consequently made completely redundant by only monitoring new instructions and sales etc which took place through its own advertising agents as opposed to the market as a whole. Haven't seen the RM one but if it does similar then its a complete waste of time….but I'm sure they will up the subs to pay for this exciting revolutionary addition!

As someone mentioned last week …..what is the market "advantage" if everyone is potentially going to use this?

We are working on a tool that will allow you to monitor any agent that you want, how many new to market, under offer, sold etc, updated weekly.

How do any of these tools help me to sell more houses?

As usual your lack of understanding of technology fails you.

Maybe so, but this is a discussion forum, not (as you seem to think) a platform for you make you feel more important than you actually are. You could have actually, just as easily as post a "put-down" towards me, give your viewpoint on how the new Rightmove intel tool can enable my company to sell more houses…….that response would have been a lot more useful to other users of PIE as well, and gratefully received. But I guess you are free to post whatever you feel, of interest, or in this case, not.

Ah I see…….A cunning plan……… let's divide and rule………. if all these stupid agents keep watching what each other do all the time and try and steel each others business, they will not start working together to set up local portal that would make us redundant!!

Forgive Mr Chapman….. you're telling us what you and your staff do? 6000 man hours? This is the deafening echo of "The Dept Responsible for justifying what we do Dept" announcing what they or someone else is doing? The WM PR Wheels in Motion!?…. every week somthing New! Improved! New Recipe! Glows in the Dark! and the New Wrongmove Spooktastic Halloween Analysis Programme that tells you what another estate agent is going to dress up as for the Big Spooky Night! If only Guy Fox had Mr Chapman and Team working on his behalf! Doh!

…and finally… at the risk of taking over this topic thread?…… Mr Chapman, Product Manager…… I seem to be seeing more and more of your Advertising Products/Boxes/Pop-ups appearing on the Wrongmove Website….. am I to assume that I have paid for these spaces through my monthly membership along with all the other WM members and you are simply giving these spaces away free to the Clydesdale Bank and others?….. or is the increasing use of this pop-up advertising actually a strategy for replacing lost income from members who leave? I just need to know who this product was designed for as I never asked for it? don't benefit from it…. and see it on my property page listings which I would have thought were for promoting my clients property and my brand?…… are we a step away from easuozypripproperty booking a space on my property page. I can't imagine the view of estate agents who have a financial services division finding that their company's property pages are being used to promote financial services from other companies or just other companies products! So income from my member page/space payment plus income from ad space sold within my page. Too many WM Fingers in Too Many Online Pies!
Can you arrange a WM For Sale Board that I can place outside my properties with a Big Arrow & Picture/Travel Directions for another agent's property nearby?….. that way we can kill 2 birds with 1 board!

GPL… you now refer to RM as WRONGmove. Okay – I'm fine with that – if you consider the site to being of no benefit whatsoever to you or your paying customers who are, at the end of the day, financing the site – yet you are still "a Member". What gives? Why continue to use your clients monies to part-fund the site if it is, as you state, a WRONG move?

You read more into WRONGmove Peebee than is actually there….. consider self obsessed companies that like to send in their legal clowns to smother anything they deem harmful to them when their company name is mentioned? On whether I choose to use Wrongmove, Rightmove, Nomove, Usefulmove….. that's my choice first and foremost and I don't recall ever seeing you walking into my company office and me turning around to address you as my boss, as that day won't come…. your question is filed under "trash".

Peebee…you comment about me "if you consider the site to being of no benefit whatsoever to you or your paying customers who are, at the end of the day, financing the site – yet you are still "a Member". What gives? Why continue to use your clients monies to part-fund the site if it is, as you state, a WRONG move? Forgive me?" … where did I say I consider the site as being of NO benefit…. plus when did you join the WM Police?….. consider carefully when you suggest I have made a particular comment when in fact I have not…. those legal smurfs lurk in dark corners waiting to pounce. I clearly appreciate WM is an Online Shop Window which I & others willingly or reluctantly use…. an expensive, overfed online shop window in my view, for the timebeing….. in my view Estate Agency's equivalent of Rome is burning invisibly whilst those within can't see…. frankly, it's time to build new roads out of the city and try and save Rome before it's too late….but hey….that's just my opinion and I wouldn't attribute that to you or anyone else. This topic is dead for today….tomorrow awaits?
