Chestertons has appointed Richard Davies as interim managing director following the resignation of the firm’s chief executive Guy Gittins.
Chestertons announced that Davies, its long-serving head of lettings, would step up into the new leadership role until a permeant appointment is made, after Gittins’ sudden departure was announced on Friday.
Gittins had been chief executive of the London based agency since 2018, having joined as sales director in 2012.
No reason was provided by Chestertons for his sudden departure, but it later transpired that he had agreed to join Foxtons as CEO.
Salah Mussa, chairman of Chestertons, said: “Guy has worked for Chestertons for 10 years, the last four of which he has been CEO. In that time, he has helped transform Chestertons from a business with great potential into a business that has been able to realise that potential and is now leading the field.
“Guy’s energy, knowledge and passion will be missed but he is leaving the business in the best shape it has ever been and we wish him all the best for his next move.”
