Agent launches Game of Homes campaign: I am the phone in the darkness

BILLBOARD

The chairman of a Hampshire estate agent says his latest funky advertising campaign is already proving a hit.

Bridges estate agents’ flyer depicts staff from its various branches as characters from the cult hit TV series Game of Thrones.

The flyer proclaims ‘there can only be one king of the south east’ and comes complete with the estate agent’s oath on the back.

Bridges chairman Tony Raffermati told EYE: “We like to think we take every part of our service very seriously, and marketing is definitely one of those areas.

“Our belief is that in order to succeed, you need to be able to get in front of potential clients more than others. By doing so and by being at the forefront of their minds we can raise our chances of being the agent of choice as they will be completely familiar with our brand.”

Since starting in 1991, Raffermati’s quirky campaigns have become the norm. Previous drives include Bridges and the Market of Doom, and The Man with the Golden Clipboard.

Raffermati said: “When I first opened in 1991 I started with pink boards. I was vilified by other agents, but it made my brand stick out from day one.

“When after about 12 months I changed my boards, everyone thought I was stupid. Nowadays agents change their boards on a fairly regular basis.

“Our  advertising and colourful approach, I believe, keeps us current in people’s minds.”

Raffermati said of the latest campaign: “It’s all about brand awareness. I’m sure the public are fully aware we don’t turn up for a valuation wearing a crown and carrying a broadsword.”

He added: “The poem, incidentally,  was written by my residential sales director’s dentist. The director mentioned we were going to run a campaign like this and that evening his dentist emailed him back with the poem.

“You simply can’t buy engagement like that.”
