Purplebricks introduces meditation service for home movers

Purplebricks has launched a series of ‘moving meditations’ to help relieve the stress of moving property.

The online estate agent hopes that the new service will help ease what it describes as the “emotional rollercoaster felt by sellers and buyers”.

The company identified the need for the new service following a poll of 2,000 people, which found that the sale of your current property, waiting on a completion date and packing are the most stressful point in the property moving process.

The study also found that half of those polled believe the process of buying and selling a home can feel overly complicated, while 49% dislike not knowing what is going on and having to constantly chase for updates.

Consequently, 71% of respondents said that they would like live updates to see exactly how far along their property sale is to ease their stresses.

It also emerged 75% believe moving house during a pandemic is more stressful than normal.

Purplebricks has teamed up with breath coach Rebecca Dennis to create three guided meditations to help ease some of the most challenging stages of a move.

Dennis said: “Moving house is one of the biggest life decisions you’ll make – there are many worries at different stages of the process.

“At times, it can feel like a rollercoaster. From the excitement of finding your dream home to the wait as you make an offer, there are plenty of ups and downs along the way.

“While the journey is not always the smoothest, there are certainly ways to find calm amongst the chaos.

“The way we breathe has a powerful effect on how stressed we feel and meditation can help to relieve that stress.

“By asking the body to relax each time we inhale, we unwind stored tension. By connecting with your own breath, you can reset the mind and body when stress or anxiety start to creep in.”

Angela Wallace, divisional sales director at Purplebricks, believes that buying and selling a home is understandably stressful, which is why “people feel the strain every now and then”.

“However, you don’t move very often in a lifetime, so try to be in the moment and enjoy making these life changing decisions,” she said. “If there are areas of the journey that feel a bit of a challenge hopefully ‘moving meditations’ can offer something unique to help buyers and sellers through.”

How about removing the stress and actually do some sales progression

This is the biggest joke I’ve ever seen, PB are not the touchy-feely organisation that they are trying to portray. They cause the most, if not all of the aggravation within the sales process.

Their reactive after sales team are worthless, even the LPEs have no clue that a house has even sold, yet alone get chain details. The only time they know is when they are ‘encouraged’ to get a trustpilot review.

I’m fairly sure that telling  ALL of their competitors that HALF of their vendors complain of “not knowing what is going on and having to constantly chase for updates” is probably more damaging  than the benefit of introducing the service.

“So why have you introduced the service?”

“ah well see….  when we asked our customers 49% moaned we’re rubbish at keeping them informed and that’s really stressful”

Confirmation that they never understood what it took to sell houses through to a successful completion until now?

If you take a quick glance at purplebricks Google reviews (not their trust pilot reviews) you will get a sense of why this organisation needs to introduce something to reduce the stress levels of their clients.

AllAgents reviews are worth a look. Only 8% of people that were unfortunate enough to use PB to sell their houses would recommend them! Whenever they are involved in a chain our workload doubles! I think they should set up a counselling service for they stress they cause!

This news just keeps getting better ! Well done PB for identifying this. Magical. Who do you think has tried doing it for you up to now. Just having an up to date chain would be good. Oh and in a market where we have more than one buyer – guess what? You are not in the recommended buyers chain.

Give us strength. “We have just realised that PB buyers are losing out “

    No sh*t Sherlock?!

They could have saved themselves the cost of the survey if they had simply asked any proper estate agent.

Open your eyes PB, these are your customers. The ones you rave about that give you 5 star ratings, what a joke.

They offered free meditation for staff during lockdown in spring but they changed their minds last minute and made them all redundant instead.

Well this just takes the biscuit !!

So instead of investing in the post sales process so that customers are actually kept informed and don’t get unnecessarily stressed they decide to tell their customers to meditate!???

This would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic. PB continuing to let their agents and customers down.

If they had used a proper estate agent they wouldn’t have been subjected to this.

Use Purplebricks and I guarantee you will be stressed.  I have them in several chains and I may need these sessions.  One question, do you pay for them up front.

Ha I thought we were all going mad for a minute but it does actually say mediation in the Today’s news email. Maybe they considered the cost and changed their minds…….
