Property TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp has undergone surgery after being airlifted to hospital following a fall while on holiday in Devon.
The 55-year-old Location, Location, Location presenter slipped on a muddy section of a steep path while walking home from a beach with her family.
Allsopp had been celebrating her birthday with a family picnic and swim at Welcombe Mouth when the accident happened.
She said her son Oscar, 18, ran to get help before emergency crews reached her.
RNLI Bude Lifeboat paramedics and Cornwall Air Ambulance were among those involved in the rescue.
Allsopp later shared a photograph from an ambulance showing cuts to her face.
She was taken to hospital in Barnstaple, where she underwent surgery on her injured leg.
The presenter subsequently posted photographs of her bandaged leg and an X-ray following the operation.
Paying tribute to those who helped her, Allsopp said hospital staff had been “amazing, kind and caring”.
She indicated that she expected to return home shortly.
Allsopp has become one of the UK’s best-known property television presenters through Channel 4’s long-running Location, Location, Location, which she presents alongside Phil Spencer.
Reflecting on the accident, she said it was “not a birthday I am going to forget”.
