Property portal blocks advert offering tenant space for £1

An advert offering a tenant a place in a shared house for just £1 per month has been blocked by the website EasyRoommate.

The advert invited prospective tenants to contact Michael.

Pictures show a well-kept five-bedroom, four-bathroom property in Gants Hill, north London.

The advert, though, is decidedly unusual, saying:

“I am renting another bed in my spacious ensuite bedroom for free due to autophobia, which is fear of being and sleeping alone.

“The house has a lovely living room and garden.

“The tenant must be single female, clean, organized and sociable.”

A spokesperson for EasyRoommate said: “We do not question the authenticity of his illness, but the fact he only wants single females left us with no other choice than to block this advert.”
