Property boss named in King’s honours list

Jennifer Daly, chief executive of Taylor Wimpey and founder of Derwent London, has been named in the King’s honours list.

Daly was among a prestigious list of top business leaders, entrepreneurs and pioneers to have been recognised for their exceptional achievements and contributions to the UK economy.

Daly, the first woman to lead a FTSE 100 housebuilding company in the UK, having been appointed in April 2022, has received a CBE for services to Business and to the Housing Sector.

She has built a successful career in the housebuilding sector, starting in the public sector in local authority planning roles before moving into the private sector.

Daly is an active member of the industry federation, a non-executive director on the New Homes Quality Board and has also previously served as a Board member on a not-for-profit housing trust. She is also a strong advocate for women in the industry and has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her career.

Daly said: “I have a real passion for housebuilding and the social and economic benefits it brings to communities across the UK, and I am deeply honoured to have been recognised in the King’s Birthday list for services to business and the industry.”
