A ‘For Sale By Owner’ website has found a method of getting private listings on to Rightmove, Zoopla and PrimeLocation.

The Little House Company itself cannot advertise on either Rightmove or Zoopla, as it sets out its stall as being for private sellers.

However, on its website it says: “We help home owners who want a more managed estate agency style service by working exclusively with Sarah Beeny’s Tepilo.com, one of the top online estate agents in the UK.

“They provide free premium Rightmove advertising exclusively to The Little House Company private sellers.”

The Little House Company has claimed to have had a 34% increase in buyer inquiries over the last year.

Nick Marr, of The Little House Company, said: “Buyers are experiencing a lack of choice between the major portals that only publish properties for sale that are listed with an estate agent, and are seeking alternative sources of properties.”

Marr said that buyers are still searching both Rightmove and Zoopla first, before turning to private sales sites.

He also claimed that “savvy” property sellers are also turning to online services in increasing numbers because of current market conditions.

He said: “Owners that are considering the sale of a home need to try a private sale. The risk is low and the likelihood of a private sale by owner is increasing as demand from property buyers goes up.

“In my opinion, buying direct from the owner ticks all the boxes for a smooth sale. Owners know far more than a middleman and they can help buyers feel 100% confident about their purchase decision.”

The Little House Company charges private sellers from £29.99 per month.
