Portal unveils guides for renters in latest ‘Zooploma’

Zoopla has unveiled a new series of guides targeted at the rental process for tenants.

The portal’s latest Zooploma consists of a series of email alerts to help tenants secure a rental property and follows a similar guide that was launched for first-time buyers on Boxing Day and attracted more than 186,000 sign-ups.

More than 100,000 renters, or aspiring renters, have already signed up to the rental Zooploma since it went live on March 2.

Once subscribed, users will receive a series of 19 easy to digest emails over five weeks covering:

  • The beginner’s guide to renting costs
  • Seven ways you can win the rental race
  • Why you should use a Zoopla agent
  • Understanding your rental contract and the Deposit Protection Service
  • 12 space-saving tricks for your rented home

Adam Knight, head of customer relationship management at Zoopla, said: “By engaging with tenants in a meaningful way in this tailored, digital format, we are driving valuable leads to our letting agent customers.

“With UK homes renting out in just over two weeks on average, renters face stiff competition, and they must make important decisions quickly.

“The Zooploma is designed to help better inform tenants throughout each step of their journey.

“Our first Zooploma has been a huge success, fast approaching 200,000 sign-ups from first-time buyers.

“We are confident the rental series will spark a similar level of interest. With more consumers signing up to receive email alerts and updates than ever before, the Zooploma represents just one of the ways we’re innovating to help our agent customers and home hunters alike.”

Zoopla like Right Move spending money developing these so called ‘extras’ . I wish they’d just stick to advertising the properties and making that as economical as possible for users.

Could have covered all 5 weeks worth of emails here by putting a banner at the top of their webpages saying – ‘if you’ve any questions, drop into any of the agents listing here – they’ll help you and it won’t take 5 weeks’
