Portal ‘juggling’ allegations in Dubai

A leading agent has said that there is a manipulation of listings on property portals – in Dubai.

Allsopp & Allsopp says that the practice makes it as though there are more properties available that there actually are.

The firm says that a search on one portal, Dubizzle, shows 214 properties listed in one area.

The firm says: “However, when we look into what is actually available for sale and then funnel it down to what you can actually move into as an end-user today, there are only 16 properties available to view.

“So only 7% of what is listed on the property portals is really available to move into today.”

The agent says that in Dubai, demand is outstripping supply as the number of properties actually for sale decreases.

Allsopp & Allsopp’s sales figures for February show 52% of the properties it sold that month were on the market for under two weeks.

At least it’s not limited to Right move and zoopla.

Shame the choice to juggle is spreading though.

I need some help on this one, please.

Exactly what does “…when we look into what is actually available for sale and then funnel it down to what you can actually move into as an end-user today…” actually mean?

That’s what I thought, Chris – but that’s not what we would label #portaljuggling, is it?

Maybe they need lessons in #portaljugllingspotting?
