This is certainly one way to clear the desks.
But at least one estate agency member of staff had to run for their life when a vehicle almost ploughed into them.
Thankfully – miraculously – there were no casualties when a car crashed over the pavement and through the window of Kings, in Turners Hill, Cheshunt, Herts, on a busy Friday afternoon.
Astonishingly, no member of the public was hurt, and neither were any of the agent’s staff.
Kings partner Karl Knipe said one member of his team had been “very lucky” to have had a close escape.
He added: “We believe that an elderly gentleman put his foot on the accelerator instead of the brake.”
The driver, believed to be 87, and his wife, were both invited into the office to sit down and recover after the ordeal as police dealt with the incident.
Guloy Gul, 39, who works for the estate agents, said: “It was very busy in the shop and I did not see much.
“It was very loud, I was very scared and shocked when it happened.
“It was an old couple, I felt very sorry for them. They were so shocked.
“We invited them in and we gave them a coffee.”
The office was boarded up, and closed halfway through Friday afternoon.
Intriguing to see from these dramatic pictures that the man enjoying a bit of pavement culture seems totally unperturbed despite all the action, including the arrival of police.
I just wonder if the agent told the couple, “I have a window at 3.30?”

Oh you poor things. Are you alright? Here, sit down and have a cup of tea.
Now, you won’t be driving the car any more so you won’t be needing your garage. Perhaps a smaller place without a garage would be more suitable for you?
Have you thought about what your place might be worth…I could get the valuer round tomorrow afternoon…
