Here is a suitably seasonal contender for Picture of the Week – a Rightmove property alert that went out yesterday.
We know it’s not been the greatest summer so far, but this snowy scene makes us realise we must have missed the odd blizzard in flaming June.
Or, as Henry Pryor tweeted, thank goodness for Rightmove’s real-time posting facility.
Shortly after, the listing was removed.
Oddly, Rightmove’s records show it was listed by the same agents, Purplebricks, on December 10, 2015, and was apparently sold (below).
According to Zoopla it was listed on March 31, with the same snow.
Mysteriously, the property has been on with Davis Tate since January, and as from this month with Andrew Milsom.
We have invited Purplebricks to comment.

Oh, dear – it’s at times like this where #portaljuggling becomes transparently obvious.
Have RIGHTMOVE been asked to comment, I wonder?

Yet these are self-proclaimed professional ‘experts’. Come on Rightmove/ Zoopla and TSO, this has gone on long enough.

Chris
We are clearly banging our heads off a (purple)brick wall.
As you know, the last two days have seen a #portaljuggling extravaganza, as it has every last/first day of each month for as long as we have been actively EVIDENCING AND REPORTING this abuse to the portal.
This is the ‘scores on the doors’ for ONE Agent alone:
* One property was “listed” on RM for the EIGHTH TIME for a period of several hours – long enough to be registered and counted on someone’s figures;
* DOZENS of properties were added to RM which had previously been listed. Identical listings – many of those showing past ‘Open Day’ dates, and others stating “REDUCED” despite suposedly being “New” listings;
* FIFTY of those “listings” literally DISAPPEARED from sight (Archived) within hours of being uploaded to RM.
The whole situation is being allowed to continue totally uncontrolled – which beggars belief.

Careful PeeBee. May have your comment removed for fear of upsetting online agents.
Seems they have a lot of influence over comments made here …….

Some have slick, very well-funded teams of lawyers who are very keen to close down open discussion and we should not blame Ros and the team for not wanting to be taken to court on a regular basis.

Let me put it this way.
If ANY company is seen to be manipulating figures, to mislead the public or investors on a large scale surely they should be held accountable.
If a company is building market share out of falsifying figures surely its in ever-bodies interests to have these companies exposed, fined and made an example of.
When i speak about figures i mean that in regards to stock numbers, agreed prices, number of sold properties, alleged savings, and also supposed like for like services.
Would it also not be of benefit for certain industry ‘Regulators’ to come out and say that manipulating or falsifying figures is holey unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Of course these comments are no way connected to this story.
*On an entirely different matter could the moderators of the site please post an update on rules for commenting. As more and more debate points are being removed lately.

No doubt the ASA will conclude this ‘informally’ as with the misleading ads.

Are Purplebricks doing the juggling? or is it the LPE’s for their own gain/stats? or a combination of both?

That’s a question I doubt we will ever get a truthful answer for, Clarkuk.
Unless, of course, someone wants to be a whistleblower…
