Picture of the Week: Can a giant panda sell this house?

It has been on Rightmove since February, but this home remains unsold – despite the novelty of having a giant panda in the pictures.

Now, however, a particularly bearish video has been uploaded to YouTube by the agents Quick and Clarke, in east Yorkshire.

It features the owner Lee Wilson at his £425,000 home near Beverley.

Richard Whelpton, director of the agents and who supplied the panda suit, said: “I get very bored of seeing the same old pictures and videos. For me it’s a bit like groundhog day. My first idea was to film home owners in their properties, sitting at the dining table and watching TV.

“The plan was that this would bring the houses to life while introducing prospective buyers to the seller.

“I’ve asked lots of clients but no one wanted to do it, so then I thought it would be fun to have them dressed in disguise. That idea didn’t catch on until Lee agreed to do it and we’re hoping that it makes the house stand out.

“We certainly had a lot of laughs shooting the video.”

The property is on Rightmove while the YouTube film is here

I respect any Estate Agent that thinks outside of the box and who are innovative on what they do, but this is ridiculous.  I actually don’t find it funny or eye catching, it makes me feel like it’s an unfunny joke instead of capturing my imagination.

I understand the reason behind it, but there are other ways in my opinion.

It misses the whole point of the photos. Attention is drawn to the panda rather than the property.

What’s worse is that after not having any joy selling it in the first few weeks the agent didn’t change it.

If it’s not working think again!

Nobody else is laughing, or buying.

    Bit of fun!

Also received nationwide coverage so the vendor and the agent are no doubt happy. Well Done, just dont make it a standard thing with listings!
