Picture of the Week: And it’s completely dotty!

Here’s our Property of the Week – and it’s enough to bring you out in spots.

It’s also a case of what the Rightmove listing doesn’t tell you – although the fact that there’s a Dalmatian in a number of the pictures is a bit of a clue.

The owner of this property in Peacehaven, Sussex, painted spots on it in memory of his first Dalmatian who he credits with saving the family’s lives.

They couldn’t get anyone to look after their elderly dog when they were due to go away over Christmas – and so cancelled their holiday.

Had they gone on it, they would have been caught up in the tsunami that killed so many people.

The owner’s first Dalmatian died a few years ago, but he is now inseparable from the second, who is the rather charming one in the pictures (you can probably tell EYE is a besotted dog lover).

Both current and previous dogs, and the house, all have the same name – Eliska.

With a story like that – and spectacular views towards the sea – it’s perhaps surprising the flat hasn’t flown off the starting blocks, after being first listed back in July. But perhaps a sniffer dog could let us know more.

You would think a house like this should be in ‘acnee’

I really hope the agent has advised the seller that it is a very ‘Personal’ statement she is making with the property and will appeal to only a few and she would be better off painting a more neutral / uniform colour to appeal to a wider audience. Otherwise he really is not doing his job.
