There were 102,010 residential property transactions in June, HMRC has reported.
The figure was a big jump from 84,140 in May and 73,370 in April, but down from the big spike of 171,370 seen in March before the Stamp Duty hike.
March’s figure was the highest in ten years.
The figure is also down from June last year, when there were 114,770 transactions.
The figures quoted are HMRC’s “actual” numbers and not the “seasonally adjusted” ones usually quoted.
The seasonally adjusted figures for both May and June are much more modest at, respectively, 90,090 and 94,550.
