Outsourced viewings provider Viewber has now completed its 90,000th viewing.
The business, launched in September 2016, provides a viewings service carried out by one of 7,000 vetted ‘Viewbers’ spread across the country.
Co-founder and former agent Ed Mead said that the biggest customers are all the well known auction houses, and that the firm’s busiest single day involved just under 400 viewings.
He said that the service is also well used on a ‘dip in, dip-out’ basis by estate and letting agents wanting to offer a premium client service seven days a week.
Other users include landlord investors wanting to get reports on properties before they travel distances to see them.
Viewber has just announced a tie-up with security firm Master Lock.
Master Lock offers secure access methods, including a Bluetooth lock box that can be used by different people, which can be accessed, tracked and shared from a smartphone.
Well done – Ed and the team!

I would be interested to know from selling agents how effective this service was at getting a property sold or are we talking passive key latch “viewbers” where they take no active part in selling the property, even know the property or ended up putting potential buyers off? Viewings by agency staff is a critical and so valuable part of the business to be wasted.

Hi Woodentop,
Sorry for my delayed reply. The first thing I would say is that this service is definitely worth a try. It needs to be thought through and fit in with your business objectives. We have had situations where “Viewbers” have helped achieve a sale or rental and even provided introductions for additional revenue opportunities. Mostly however, we find it a useful as a back up service for a wide range of situations.
Secondly, our experience is that the individuals concerned really are professional and keen to do the very best job they can. They appreciate feedback and take their roles very seriously.
I admit that I ( and my colleagues ) were sceptical, but now we are all fans!

I’d love to let you know directly what people’s findings are but as you post anonymously I can’t. Simon, posted above, uses us exactly as most do – purely as a fill in when his staff are stretched and demand high, maybe ask him? I’m sure you use weekend staff, I used to at Douglas & Gordon, but there was only one per office, their diaries were booked by Tuesday and more and more people want to see properties at weekends and can’t – it’s where the growth is coming from. Some of the best known names use weekend staff – Viewber just gives everyone the chance to do the same thing without the hassle of employing, churn and catering for demand fluctuation. Feedback – look at our testimonials – suggests people just want to get in to see your instructions and are ambiguous on whether it’s a significant benefit being shown round by a member of staff. Three years and 90k viewings would tend to suggest there’s a place for it?

“Three years and 90k viewings would tend to suggest there’s a place for it?”
And that, past personal opinion (as documented and debated here on EYE) to one side, I have to hold my own hand up and agree with, Mr Mead.
Congratulations. How long to six figures, I wonder…?
