It is the giving season, and we happily report that Belvoir has raised over £20,000 this year for charity.
The sum represents £1,000 for every year that Belvoir has been in business.
Of the total, Gary and Amanda Pemberton, of Belvoir Warrington, raised about £6,000. Amanda ran the London marathon and Guy took part in the London to Paris charity cycle race to raise funds for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, which is a haven for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children across the north west.
Ann, Steve and James Whalley raised £4,300 with their fifth consecutive charity gold day for Macmillan.
Our congratulations to all at Belvoir, and also to independent firm Cooper Adams, in West Sussex, which is sponsoring a free Christmas Day lunch for people who would otherwise be on their own.
As well as sponsoring the event, managing director Shaun Adams, his wife Nicola and their son Harrison will be spending their Christmas Eve decorating the hall and setting it all up. We take our (Santa) hats off to you.
Finally, the “elves” at Letters of Distinction, a rental firm in York, raised money for the Alzheimers Society by dressing as elves for the charity’s Elf Day on Wednesday.
This year, the firm has raised a total of £2,175 for this truly excellent cause.
Plus, we love their ‘selvie’, below.
Excellent stuff.
Merry Christmas everyone!
