OnTheMarket’s Chas and Dave advert due to go back on TV this Christmas

The advert that even the kindest critics say is so bad that it is almost good is due to be back on TV on Boxing Day.

OnTheMarket’s ‘Chas and Dave’ advert – 30 seconds of hell or complete heaven, depending on your point of view – will go on to run through January.

OTM says it will reach 35.8m adults, who will have the opportunity to see it an average of 5.6 times.

The ads will run on ITV and C4, plus digital channels on Sky and catch-up services.

The advert will also appear on screens in gyms across the country, at the time of year when many of us dream of perfect abs and honed bodies before realising it is a lost cause.

The network of over 800 gyms includes David Lloyd, Fitness First, Nuffield Health and many more.

A national radio campaign is also planned, as is an outdoor promotion in London.

Helen Whiteley, commercial director at OTM, said: “We know that our multi-channel marketing approach is both effective in building brand awareness and efficient in generating traffic and leads so it’s very exciting to have our TV advert back on screens from Boxing Day when online property searches start to peak.

“This will help generate maximum exposure and value for our estate and letting agent shareholders and customers.”

The adverts will all promote OTM’s ‘new and exclusive’ feature.

Rightmove has yet to announce its Christmas and New Year advertising campaign, as has Zoopla.

A Truly woeful Ad – OTM’s very own Tombstone.

OTM. A Company that doesn’t listen, scorns winning opportunities, quite literally takes the portal ball and dribbles the entire length of the pitch, then when confronted with the opposition’s empty goal, OTM turns around and runs back to score in its own goal.

It’s not laughable, it’s sad that OTM in marketing terms is a laughing stock.
Dreary & memorable for all the wrong reasons, and OTM peddle that they are proud of their Chas n’ Dave Ad.

Take the money you will waste on your Festive TV Ad OTM and give it to Homeless Charities, at least it would deliver something positive for those poor folks.

OTM’s Christmas Ad …..a surefire No 2 hit ……and then flush.

      Here’s a date for your diary – 26/01/2020.

You can gather at the Portal Quayside with Ian & Helen and wave me a fond farewell. It’s my “ Last Day Listing & Billable:26/01/2020” according to the email I received this morning from the OTM Bunker.

The Exciting News is that my 5 Years of paying monthly for my Golden Ticket OTM Membership plus providing OTM with a financial loan (OTM V1 – little did I know that my loan was buying me a Buy OTM V1, get OTM V2!) ……entitles me to continue to comment re OTM, albeit both on a Free Speech & Free Financial basis.

Who knows what will happen with OTM, they don’t, so what chance for the rest of us?

My fingertips will tingle forever as I’m reminded daily that OTM/AGENTS MUTUAL burned them for 5 Years!

Thankfully, as OTM has rumbled along I got on with the business of providing my clients with an honest/professional estate agency service – that’s what pays my bills after all. Unlike OTM I can’t throw a pair of handcuffs on clients and charge them for 5 Years.

It could have been all so different ……however it has confirmed that national portals cannot deliver for agents what strong local marketing can.

Merry Christmas One & All, I will be Free of the OTM Turkey in the New Year.

As if the interminable ghastliness of Spendmas muzak was not enough, OTM now heaps it hideous, downmarket, diirge upon us.

May their wine be corked, stockings be empty, and their turkey rotten!

How fitting, Boxing Day traditionally for left over Turkey and OTM airing its stale Turkey of an advert.
